Co-Parenting Post Divorce

For children, divorce can be especially stressful, sad, and confusing. At any age, children may feel shocked, uncertain, or angry at the prospect of their parents splitting up. They may even feel guilty, blaming themselves for the problems at home. It is so important for children to know that the divorce was not their fault, although many times they get caught in the middle.

How Can Parents Help Their Child?

Many times when parents get divorced, it is easy to forget that the children are suffering as well. We need to keep in mind that children are affected not only by things that are said, but by things that are not said.

Parenting therapy, which is not couples therapy, can be very helpful. The goal is for parents to work together for the sake of their child.
